Wits University Generator Projects

Aftek was commissioned by Wits University in 2014 to undertake the strategic and concept planning, design, procurement and construction stage supervision for generator additions to their following main campuses:

• Braamfontein East Campus – Additional 1 x 2,5MVA to complete a 7,5MVA plant feeding into the internal medium voltage network.
• Braamfontein West Campus – Additional 1 x 2,5MVA to complete a 5MVA plant feeding into the internal medium voltage network.
• Wits Business School – 2 x 500kVA containerized units set up to feed into the internal medium voltage network.
• Wits Education Campus – New 2x1000kVA generator plant room set up to feed into the internal medium voltage network.

All of the above projects have been completed and are fully operational, providing full generator back-up on all the campuses.
